do you ever see the objects around you

their spirit, their intentionality, their beauty

and wonder about the mind that willed this object into existence?

 

I usually see methods of manufacture, materials, and decisions made to reduce costs with my background in automation engineering. I see these items, and I find them lacking.

How can my own work be beautiful if the tools have no soul in them? How can a fire be lit with no spark? We face this constantly in the modern world as more products lose their art and become cheaper. Businesses constantly have to struggle with ethical and financial decisions, and surviving demands unsustainable growth.

I refuse.

and that's why I make what I choose to make

because I want to

because I want better

because ethics and honest work are important to me

and I want to share that design philosophy with you.

to a tool in your hand,

to things you make,

to the joy it brings others.
