This is an estimated starting price, and deposit, for most small, custom steel hand tools with no moving parts, such as small knives, screwdrivers, trimmers, scrapers, chisels, gouges, and wrenches. Usually around 4-6" of steel plus a handle, can be mild or high carbon steel as use dictates. I hand-forge the steel, grind, heat treat, and make a handle.
Handles, if applicable, can be 3D printed, wood, resin, metal, or other materials as needed. This would be the majority of any extra cost depending on your wants.
Damascus or specialty steels may cost more as well. Typically these one-off tools use good but recycled high carbon steel, such as coil spring or leaf spring.
